Creating & Running Surveys

1 min read

Nami supports three survey types, each designed for a different listening purpose. Surveys are created in the web dashboard and delivered to participants through Nami in Slack.

Survey Types

TypePurposeTypical Cadence
360-DegreeGather multi-rater feedback on an individual from peers, managers, and direct reportsPer cycle or on-demand
PulseQuick check-in on engagement, morale, or a specific topicWeekly or monthly
eNPSMeasure employee loyalty with a single 0-10 questionQuarterly

Creating a Survey

  1. Go to Dashboard > Surveys > New Survey.
  2. Select the survey type.
  3. Add your questions. Pulse surveys support rating scales (1-7) and open text questions. eNPS uses the standard promoter question (0-10) automatically.
  4. Choose participants -- select individuals, departments, or the entire workspace.
  5. Set a launch date and deadline.
  6. Click Launch.

Info

Once launched, Nami sends each participant a Slack DM with a link to complete the survey. Reminders follow the same 7/3/1-day schedule as review deadlines.

Viewing Results

Navigate to the survey detail page to see:

  • Response rate -- how many participants have completed the survey.
  • Aggregate scores -- averages, distributions, and trends per question.
  • Individual responses -- available only to admins and HR, respecting any anonymity settings.

Warning

Anonymous surveys cannot be de-anonymized after launch. Choose the anonymity setting carefully before launching.

Tips for High Response Rates

  • Keep pulse surveys under 5 questions.
  • Launch on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings for best completion.
  • Use Nami reminders rather than manual follow-ups.
