Quick answers to the most common questions about Nami.

"I didn't get a Nami message"

Nami can only message you if you have signed into Nami at least once via Slack OAuth. Make sure:

  1. You are a member of the workspace in Nami.
  2. Your Slack account is active and not deactivated.
  3. You have not muted or blocked the Nami bot in Slack.

Tip

Ask your admin to verify your profile exists in Dashboard > Team. If it does not, they can add you manually or via CSV import.

"My review says overdue"

A review is marked overdue when the phase deadline has passed and you have not submitted. You can still submit — the form is not locked. Complete it as soon as possible; the overdue flag will remain but the review will be accepted.

"I can't see my team"

The My Team page is only visible to users with the manager role or above (including HR and Admin). If you should be a manager but do not see the page, ask your admin to update your role in Dashboard > Team.

"How do I change my manager?"

Only admins can update reporting relationships. Ask your admin to go to your profile in Dashboard > Team and change the manager field.

"Where do I see my rating?"

Your rating becomes visible after the Communication phase of a cycle is complete. Go to Dashboard > Performance to view your final rating and feedback.

Info

If the cycle is still in Calibration or an earlier phase, ratings have not been released yet. Check with HR on the expected timeline.

"Can I edit a submitted review?"

Once submitted, a review cannot be edited by the author. If a correction is genuinely needed, contact your admin or HR — they can reopen the review for you on a case-by-case basis.

"Is my data safe? Can other companies see it?"

Yes, your data is safe. Each workspace is completely isolated from every other workspace using database-level Row-Level Security (RLS). There is no way for users in one organization to access another organization's data — this is enforced at the database level, not just in the application. See the Security & Privacy article for full details.

"What data does Nami access from Slack?"

Nami only accesses your Slack user ID, display name, email address, and profile photo for directory sync. It does not read your Slack channels, group messages, files, or message history. The only messages Nami reads are direct messages you send to the Nami bot as part of the review workflow.

"What happens to my data if we cancel?"

After cancellation, your workspace retains full access until the end of the billing period. Your data is then kept for up to 30 days so you can request an export (CSV). After the retention period, data is deleted upon request or as part of our cleanup process. Contact hello@namihr.com if you need an export before deletion.

"Can my manager see my anonymous feedback?"

No. Anonymous feedback is only shown in aggregated form — never attributed to individual respondents. This applies to both managers and HR/Admin users. A minimum of 3 anonymous responses is required before any aggregated data is displayed.

"Where can I find the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy?"

Both are available at the bottom of any page:

These documents explain what data we collect, how it's used, your rights (including GDPR and CCPA), and our liability limitations.

"How do I export my data?"

You can export data in CSV format from several places:

  • Analytics: Go to Dashboard > Analytics and click the Export CSV button to download review and competency data
  • Surveys: Open any survey and click Export Results to download responses
  • Team data: Use Dashboard > Team > Import to download a CSV template that reflects your current team structure

Tip

We recommend exporting your data regularly as a backup. Nami maintains its own automated backups, but having your own copy ensures you always have access to your historical data.
