Understanding Analytics

1 min read

The Analytics module turns raw review data into actionable insights. Use it to spot trends, identify skill gaps, and measure the health of your performance culture.

Available Views

A line chart showing average ratings over time, broken down by cycle. Use this to see whether performance is improving, stable, or declining across review periods.

Rating Distribution

A histogram of ratings (1-5) for any selected cycle. Healthy distributions typically show a bell curve; heavy skew toward 5s may indicate rating inflation.

Competency Heatmaps

A color-coded grid displaying average competency scores by department or function. Darker cells indicate higher proficiency; lighter cells highlight gaps that may need learning and development investment.

Demographics

Break down ratings by department, job family, career level, or tenure. This helps HR teams monitor equity and consistency across groups.

Completion Rates

Track what percentage of reviews have been submitted on time versus overdue. Low completion rates may signal process friction or poor communication.

Tip

Combine filters to drill into specific slices -- for example, "Q4 2025 cycle + Engineering department + Senior level" to see how senior engineers performed last quarter.

Filtering Data

Every analytics view supports filters for:

  • Cycle -- select one or more review cycles.
  • Function -- filter by job family or function.
  • Department -- narrow to a specific department.

Info

Managers see analytics scoped to their direct reports only. HR and admins see organization-wide data.

Exporting

Charts and underlying data can be exported for use in presentations or external BI tools.
